Consultations

Who performs the consultation?

Precilla Sharp, a Registered Nurse with 25+ years of nursing experience. About Nurse Precilla

What happens at a first consultation?

We talk through what is bothering you and what you want to change, ask about your skin history, medications and previous treatments, look at your skin, and set out the options that suit you. It takes about 30 minutes.

Do I have to book a treatment on the day?

No. There is no obligation. We would rather you left with a plan you understood.

What if a treatment is not suitable for me?

We tell you. Ruling things out is part of the consultation, and sometimes the honest answer is to wait, to do less, or to see a GP or dermatologist instead. What we will and will not treat

Is there a cost for the consultation?

Yes — a $50 consultation fee applies. It is fully redeemable against a treatment or a skincare product purchased on the same day.

Treatments

Which treatment do I need?

That is what the consultation is for. If you would rather start from the concern than the treatment, our skin concerns pages explain what is happening in the skin and which treatment categories are worth discussing.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends entirely on your concern, your skin and your goals. Some treatments are occasional; concerns such as acne scarring usually need a series. We give you a realistic number after we have seen your skin, not before.

When will I see a difference?

Surface changes — hydration, smoothness, how skin catches light — are often visible early. Changes that depend on the skin's own repair response build over weeks and months.

Is there downtime?

It varies by treatment, from none to several days. We tell you what to expect before you book anything.

Can treatments be combined?

Often, yes. Which combinations suit you is part of the consultation.

Do you treat men?

Yes.

Skin and aftercare

Do I need to stop my skincare before a treatment?

Usually, yes — actives such as retinol and acids are generally paused for a few days beforehand, and longer for some treatments. Your specific pre-care instructions are given when you book.

Why does sunscreen keep coming up?

Because for pigmentation, texture and ageing it does more to protect a result than the treatment does to create one. It is part of every plan, not an upsell.

I think I have over-exfoliated. Can you still treat me?

Possibly not straight away. A compromised barrier usually needs to recover first, and our first recommendation is often to simplify your routine rather than add a treatment.
