Our clinic and how we work

Consultation first, always

Every new client starts with a one-on-one skin consultation before any treatment is booked. That is not a formality. It is where we find out whether a treatment is appropriate for you at all.

A consultation takes about 30 minutes. There is no obligation to book anything on the day, and we would rather you left with a plan you understood than a treatment you were talked into.

Medical governance

Cosmetic medical treatments at the clinic are carried out under appropriate medical governance and in line with Australian regulatory requirements. Registered nurses work in collaboration with qualified medical practitioners.

What we will not treat

There are concerns we decline, and it is worth saying so plainly:

  • Active, inflamed acne — resurfacing over it tends to make things worse. Settling the acne first is usually the faster route, and often that means seeing a GP or dermatologist rather than us.
  • Anything we are unsure about. A mole or pigmented spot that is changing in size, shape or colour needs a doctor, not a cosmetic treatment. We will not treat over a lesion we cannot identify.
  • Skin that is not ready. A compromised barrier, a recent treatment elsewhere, recent sun exposure or certain medications can all mean waiting. Waiting is a legitimate outcome of a consultation.
  • Expectations we cannot meet. If what you want is not achievable with what we offer, we will say so rather than sell you a course that will disappoint you.

What to expect at a consultation

  1. We talk through what is bothering you and what you want to change
  2. We ask about your skin history, medications, conditions and previous treatments
  3. We look at your skin
  4. We set out the options — including the option of doing nothing, or of a referral
  5. If a treatment is appropriate, we explain what it involves, what recovery looks like, what the risks are and how many sessions are realistic

Single-use equipment and sharps safety

For applicable treatments, single-use syringes and treatment cartridges are used. They are not reused between clients.

Used needles and other sharps are disposed of immediately into an approved sharps container, in accordance with safe clinical practice.
