Why this page does not recommend a treatment
Australian advertising rules limit what a clinic may say publicly about higher-risk cosmetic procedures, and for good reason: what suits one person's anatomy and medical history may be inappropriate for another's.
So this page does not name a treatment, recommend one, or tell you what you need. It tells you what the consultation covers. What is appropriate for you — if anything is — is something that can only be established after an individual assessment.
Risks and considerations
All cosmetic procedures carry risk. Depending on what is discussed, these may include bruising, swelling, tenderness, asymmetry, infection, an unsatisfactory result, and — less commonly — more serious complications.
Suitability depends on your medical history, your medications, your anatomy and your expectations. Some people are not suitable candidates, and some concerns are better addressed by a different kind of practitioner altogether.
This is the area where Australian advertising rules are most restrictive, and where a consultation matters most. What is appropriate depends on your facial anatomy, your medical history, any medications you take and what you are hoping to change.
When a consultation may not be the right next step
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have certain neuromuscular conditions, or if you are taking particular medications, some options may be unsuitable. This is assessed individually.
Some concerns about facial ageing are better addressed through skin treatments than anything else — and if that is the case for you, we will say so. Our fine lines and skin ageing page covers that ground.
Questions people ask
Why does this page not explain the treatments?
Because Australian rules limit what may be said publicly about higher-risk cosmetic procedures, and because what is appropriate genuinely cannot be determined without assessing you.
What if a treatment is not right for me?
We will tell you, and we will explain why. Sometimes the better answer is a skin treatment, and sometimes it is nothing at all.
Is there a cost for the consultation?
Yes — a $50 consultation fee applies. It is fully redeemable against a treatment or a skincare product purchased on the same day.
