Facial slimming consultations in Auburn

A consultation to discuss concerns about the width of the lower face, jaw tension, and facial proportion.

Concerns in this area are sometimes cosmetic, sometimes functional, and sometimes both. The assessment is about understanding which.

Concerns people come to discuss

  • The width or squareness of the lower face
  • Jaw tension
  • Teeth grinding or clenching
  • Facial proportion and balance

What happens at your consultation

Your consultation is with Precilla Sharp, a Registered Nurse. It takes about 30 minutes.

  1. We talk through what is bothering you and what you would like to change
  2. We review your medical history, medications and any previous treatments
  3. We assess the area and your facial structure
  4. We discuss whether any option is appropriate for you, and what it would involve
  5. If something is appropriate, we explain the process, the recovery, the risks and what is realistic

There is no obligation to book a treatment on the day.

Why this page does not recommend a treatment

Australian advertising rules limit what a clinic may say publicly about higher-risk cosmetic procedures, and for good reason: what suits one person's anatomy and medical history may be inappropriate for another's.

So this page does not name a treatment, recommend one, or tell you what you need. It tells you what the consultation covers. What is appropriate for you — if anything is — is something that can only be established after an individual assessment.

Risks and considerations

All cosmetic procedures carry risk. Depending on what is discussed, these may include bruising, swelling, tenderness, asymmetry, infection, an unsatisfactory result, and — less commonly — more serious complications.

Suitability depends on your medical history, your medications, your anatomy and your expectations. Some people are not suitable candidates, and some concerns are better addressed by a different kind of practitioner altogether.

Where jaw tension, clenching or grinding is involved, there may be a dental or medical dimension to the concern. We may suggest you speak to your dentist or GP as well as, or instead of, pursuing a cosmetic option.

When a consultation may not be the right next step

Where the width of the lower face is determined by bone structure, cosmetic treatment aimed at soft tissue will not change it, and we will say so.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, some neuromuscular conditions and some medications affect suitability. This is assessed individually.

Questions people ask

Is this about how my face looks, or about jaw tension?

It can be either, and often both. Both are worth raising at the consultation.

Should I see a dentist instead?

Possibly, and that is a genuine outcome of some consultations. Grinding and clenching often have a dental dimension.

Is there a cost for the consultation?

Yes — a $50 consultation fee applies. It is fully redeemable against a treatment or a skincare product purchased on the same day.
