What Happens During a Rejuran Treatment at The Contour Hub?

If you’ve been researching treatments for skin quality, fine lines, texture or overall skin rejuvenation, you may have come across Rejuran. But what actually happens during an appointment?

At The Contour Hub in Auburn, every treatment begins with a consultation and skin assessment. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we look at your skin concerns, treatment goals, medical history and previous treatments before discussing whether Rejuran may be suitable for you.

What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is a skin treatment containing polynucleotides (PN) derived from highly purified salmon DNA fragments. It is used in aesthetic practice with the aim of supporting skin quality and rejuvenation.

It differs from treatments designed primarily to add volume. The focus is instead on the condition and quality of the skin.

Step 1: Consultation and Skin Assessment

Before treatment, we take time to understand what is concerning you about your skin. This may include:

  • fine lines
  • changes in skin texture
  • dull or tired-looking skin
  • reduced skin elasticity
  • areas where the skin appears thin or crepey

Your medical history, medications, allergies and previous cosmetic treatments are also reviewed.

This consultation is an important part of determining whether treatment is appropriate for you and allows us to discuss expected outcomes, potential risks, downtime and alternative options.

Step 2: Preparing the Skin

If you decide to proceed and treatment is considered appropriate, the skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared. Comfort measures may also be discussed before treatment.

Step 3: Treatment

Rejuran is administered into selected areas of the skin according to your individual treatment plan. The treatment area and technique will vary depending on your skin, concerns and assessment.

Small raised areas or bumps may be visible immediately afterwards. Mild redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising can also occur. These reactions are generally temporary, although recovery varies between individuals.

Step 4: Aftercare

You’ll receive aftercare instructions before leaving the clinic. Generally, the focus immediately after treatment is on keeping the skin clean, avoiding unnecessary irritation and following the personalised instructions provided by your practitioner.

We’ll also explain what is normal following treatment and when you should contact the clinic if you have any concerns.

When Will I See a Difference?

Rejuran isn't intended to create an instant dramatic transformation. Changes in skin appearance may develop gradually, and individual responses vary. Depending on your skin and treatment goals, a series of treatments may be discussed rather than relying on a single session.

Your treatment plan will be discussed during consultation.

Rejuran vs Microneedling or Other Skin Treatments

There isn't one treatment that's right for everyone. For some clients, Rejuran may be considered. For others, treatments such as traditional microneedling, SQT bio-microneedling, LED therapy, chemical peels or other skin treatments may be more appropriate.

In some cases, a carefully planned combination of treatments may be considered. The important part is choosing treatment based on your skin rather than simply following a trend.
